In general, You are going to be hard pressed to find 1000 watts of real power for less than 250 or even 300 dollars on any reputable internet site. If you are lucky, you may be able to do $200 or less on ebay and this forum for a used one.

Lanzar, except for the opti's, are crap and on par with pyle, legacy, pyramid, ect.

Also, Pioneer amps aren't all that bad and while people on here hate on Sony, there are definitely worse brands out there.

I had nothing but trouble with my Opti 2000. Hunk of crap. Blew twice. Someone else's problem now. They repaired it and got it back to me both times rather quickly though.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

I would examine the internals of that amp you are considering, and compare it with other amps of the same ratings.

a teammate of mine had an opti2000d pushin his 2 12L5's and he never had a problem.

i was considering getting one..but went another way. ive heard its kindof hit or miss though. youll get a good reliable one, or a piece of crap.

not entirely true. first off teh optis are nice, but if u wanan run them hard, you need a slightly beefed up electrical...takes power to make power.

ONLY OTHER LANZAR AMP SERIES worth while is the VIBE series (1200d, 1800d). they do rated power and are fairly efficent as far as heat goes. you can beat the hell out of them and they barely heat up, even off a not so great electrical.

Lanzar IS made by the same manufacture as legacy, plye, pyramid, and pyle pro. the vast majoity of thier equpiment if garbage, the vibe series happens to do have decent components put into it.

here's a good review of the vibe 1200d.

http://www.carsound.com/review_archive/amps/vibe1200d.html

it'll do 1000+ @ 12.5v, not bad for under 200

INDOAUDIO does have a rep for selling reburbed amps as new(especially with memphis amps), however a few years ago when 1 bought my vibe through them it was new, and when i blew it up twice they warrantied me and sent me new amps. if ur on a budget, u wont find better quality for the price.

IMO id take a vibe or opti over a pioneer amp any day of the week

Ehh, what do you wanna do with it? Compete? Then I would say the lower lines no. I ran ones of these http://www.onlinecarstereo.com/CarAudio/ProductDetail.aspx?ProductID=12803 for like 7 or 8 mths in my pos dd car on a MTX Thunder 8000. It got pretty **** loud, didnt overheat, nothing. I even ran it for a month or so at 2ohms mono, pushed it really hard and it still didnt shut off or blow fuses. It says 2000w max, guess you could figure maybe 800w rms, not too bad, i got it used for $40

The 286 is a 900w amp. You can download the manual from lanzar.com and see the real numbers.

At the price you posted you're getting quite a bit of power.

Reliability? Hard to say.

It's a budget amp - nothing more - and isn't trying to be.

x2. only the opti tho. all ive heard is bad about the vibes.

I decided to get an Opti2000D, myself. There's a problem w/ the fan in it but it's not something I can't fix. Other than an annoying buzzing sound, the amp works great! I'll prolly have time to fix that nuisance this weekend.
