lanzar amp???

Lanzar optidrives are without question very sweet amps. They have every quality someone could ask for.

The Vibes are ok, and among the best of the "budget" amps (the xx0 and xx1 series), and the viberants (xx5 and xx8 series), I believe, are pretty badly over-rated. Decent quality, just not what's advertised.

My general opinion on Lanzar is , worst case scenario - you get what you pay for. Best case - you get a hell of an amp.

YES SIR lanzar really is under rated by all these macho car freaks who like to bash on the cheaper stuff when sometimes this cheap stuff really is good and thats why we buy it. I use to have a lanzar viberant 1200 watt and never had a problem outa it in the 4 months I put it through abuse. now I have jbl 1200 but Ive come across a very nice 2000 watt mono amp lanzar Heritage and it looks like a sweet deal.

NO...you are poorly informed.
YOu got to be kidding buddy, Lanzar is pretty much trash in my book UNLESS you are talking about the Optidrive. They were nice IN THERE TIME.
OF COURSE I'm talking about the Opti's. While the Vibes may be a good choice if you're on a budget - they are without question in a totally different league than Optidrive. The Opti's are right on pace with whatever you want to put them up against, regardless of cost.

You may or may not be aware, but the power section of the Opti's has been basically the same since the late 80's - they were all ZED designed amps. The only major changes over that time was the heat sinks, obviously, and the addition of very high quality x/o's and a parametric EQ.

Up to 2003, the Optidrives have always been "in 'there' time".

I have experience with the early '90's opti's and the post 2k opti's. Trust me - they are still the real deal - and with the added processing capability I don't think it's a stretch to say they've clearly upgraded. I don't know what else you could ask for -- Rock solid construction, classy looks, significant power above and beyond mfg. ratings, excellent controls, SQ like specs.

Please - tell me what they're missing and maybe I'll be able to understand a little bit of where you're coming from.

The Jury is still out on the '04 models. They just showed up on Lanzar's website a couple weeks ago. They are the first all Sound Around Opti's that have been built. It should be interesting to see the outcome.

The Optidrive are bas ***. To be honest I'm not fimilar with the new models but if it is anything like the early 90's model then they would be a nice amp.

The VIBE line on the other hand is not at all impressive even for a "budget" amp, they are no more impressive than a Boss or Pyramid.

As far as "budget" amps I would go with something like Hifonics or JBL.

You have to at least admit that the Vibe 1200D/1800D is a hell of an amp for the money. 1200rms with good controls for $220 new??

I've personally owned a vibe 230, and 430 and also the 1200D. While the A/b vibes may be a little over-rated they still make good power for the cost. The 430 tested at 296x2 bridged and can be had for less than $150 new, and about $120 refurb'd. The 230's probably 80x2 or so and can be had for well under $100.

I'm pretty sure the Viberants are the same as the Vibes internally - they just have worse ratings.

Anyway - different strokes I guess.

hey justin //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif! glad to see you're still around //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

oh and the opti aside, laznzar are the very best of the budget brands out there //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

IDK if I would say they are the best budget brand out there but they are right up there in the ranks im sure. If you ask me JBL prolly takes the cake with Profile in second and Lanzar in 3rd. I say this because JBL is good for the money as well as being underrated and putting out more power than rated. Profile is 2nd because they are built very reliably and arent overrated or underrated, they do what they say and dont have any bell and whistles to run up cost.

And finally Lanzar is 3rd on my list because other than the Opti line they generally overrate their amps and some of them are overrated very badly. But they are without a doubt good amps for the money.

If you ask me JBL prolly takes the cake
no, JBL tales the pi$$ if anything. out of jbl and lanzar, lanzar is quite easily on top. the jbl 1200.1, for example, whilst it may be a cheap amp, it has problems with it and that why companies like DD for example will not uphold your warranty if you use JBL amplifiers, especially the 1200.1 with their subs, like the 9500. the crown is a whole different story and in any case, lanzar a) had/have the mean mean mean bada$$ opti series and thye seem to be picking up again.

lanzar own jbl's usual line up.

Yea true JBL has alot of problems with their amps such as for one thing the crossovers really **** on them but other than that they make pretty reliable power. But I was just saying on MY list JBL is better because Lanzar overrates their amps and JBL does not.
