Two 15" Type-R's would Slaughter one 15"L7. It depends on how much room you have in your vehicle too. One of them can handle more power than an L7 any day. Just look at the back of them the L7's half the size.

I have owned a type r 12 and a l7 15 and the sound quality is NOT that much different. The alpine was less loud. The kicker was extremely loud and sounded good also. They were both in a ported box. I would get either depending on price.

ok, looking for a better 'sound' but you have a dang big 7 cuft box...how about a sealed setup, like the CVX 15 or Type r 15". If you want a big ported L7 15", then SQ isn't what your really after...if you want an overall better 'sound' try a selaed woofer that handles the power. i mentioned the CVX, but you stated it was too $$...so question 1) how much do you want to spend 2) want more SQ or SQL or SPL
