L7 vs. R's

im looking to match the output of my 2 12 inch L7's but i want it to sound a little better, could i do this with 2 15" type R's? they'd go in ~7ft^3 tuned to around 33 hz.

please don't flame me for not searching, i tried searching but all i can find is stereotypical crap about Alpine and kicker. I'd like to do a little better sounding setup than my l7's but only have $450 MAX to do so with. I'd also like to match or better SPL. im not doing any kind of competitions i just want some good sounding daily drivers.

this will be powered by a kicker sx 1250.1 mine benched almost 1500 RMS, and i will probobly upgrade my amp after i do some electrical work.

Check out the SPL lineup from Premier I know they are louder than the 12" Type R's and have very good sq,but I am no fan of the R's I dont here the sq in them (12")they sound trashy/sloppy to me to me, but if u like the way they sound they sound like a good replacement or look into like ID.

yeah, it seems like not very many people have had experiance with the 15" type R's i listened to a 12" type R sealed and was pretty impressed with it.

x2 on the pioneer premier subs... they get very loud and sound great... i currently own a 3002spl in a 2.4 cubes box tuned at 32hz and sound amazing

The pioneers arent going to do much better if any in the sq department. Try a different box design first.

It should but 2 12" are loud dude,yes I dont wanna say yea and it end up not being as loud,but IDK I dont think the L7 and L5s sound bad

its a tuff 1. i myself is lookin to try the 06 L7s. 2 15Rs will wang no doubt. if u up for teh challenge go for it. L7s can sound good also. im torn between the 2. but i say try the Rs and see how u like em. but 1st try a diff box wit wha ya have. and as far as the pioneers, i wouldnt even waste my time

im on my second box, the last one had higher tuning and i thought it sounded horrible, the one i have now is tuned a little lower and it sounds a bit better.

what do you guys think would pound harder, one 15" kicker l7, or 2 15" type R's?? im trying to decide between these 2. so far im leaning towards the type r just because they have better sq.
