What's purpose of the resin? Looks like a waste, IMO.

Believe it or not, MDF is porous. I've seen competition boxes gain .5-.6 just by resining them, not all boxes but some.

Resin on the inside can some time lead to gains, and he is resining the outside because the dakota is getting a blow through so its some extra protection since MDF + water = nasty.

woops, i guess i missed the blow through part, so resin on the outside makes sense. I would think bracing the inside w/ some mdf would be more effective and cost less.

Like a dumbass, he didnt say anything about the blow through part but its a standard cab dakota with 4 12"S os i guess its implied lol.

Been lazy about updating this.

Resin on the bottom.

Rear wall ready for cutting.

Baffles for the subs, double baffled.

Building a box for my little baby battery.

Glassed the speaker baffles.

Glassed the top baffle.

I got it in and playing two nights ago, the top wasn't secured well enough and was slapping up and down making a horrible obnoxious noise. So I screwed that down, and then the front of the bed wall was flexing so hard it was slapping the box and making another noise that was loud as ****. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif

Oh, and then I blew all four at once today. oh and what kinda resin did you use on the box? Fiberglassing resin or casting resin?

Yep, one is scratchy and they others are completely frozen or some shit. Amp protected when they blew but works fine now that they aren't hooked up. My guess behind that is because the coil is so ****ed on the subs that it's dropping them into a ridiculous impedance.

I bet only one would have blown, but the amp protecting had something to do with killing the others.

Even used a 9v battery on the subs, no movement whatsoever.
