Konaki 12 or type r 15

the konaki is essentially an older dd 9500... which will eat the sh*t out of a type r.... so theres no comparison.. konaki ftw!
Not true. In any way shape or form.

Fact : 15 vs 12, the Type R is going to have the cone area advantage.

Fact : The Type R, in all reality, is a better woofer than the Konaki and more importantly, it's a much more RELIABLE woofer. The Konaki MIGHT have a slight advantage in burping SPL terms, but those recones arent cheap...

if both were the same size the konaki w/ia soft parts would own the type r.
Right. But unless I'm reading incorrectly, he's comparing a 12" Konaki vs a 15" Type R. Type R, hands down.

The soft parts Konaki uses arent all that wonderful. I have no experience with teh woofer, I admit, but considering that 90% of all people are purchasing them purely to recone them with other company's soft parts - - - it tells me something. The only person I know to run a Konaki as it comes killed it on 2k rms in a matter of weeks, that was not being irresponsible.

If you got a 15" Konaki and did the IA Softparts, then go with the Konaki, otherwise - type R.

people buy them to recone because its the cheapest way into an spl sub of that kind for 150 bucks. And do some research.. this is from the same build house as audioque. Thats why they look so similar, and we know the relationship of audioque to dd... so use that search button mane!
