Can I still use a 300A fuse with the eKo cable even though it says capable of loads up to 250A? Or will this be a problem?

Why do you think that you need a 300A fuse as opposed to a 250A?

i never thought any of that, i had a 300a on hand and i didnt wanna have to buy another one.............

Our rating is based on voltage loss at 20ft, Over 250A you will have more then a 10% loss @ 20ft.

wait, you lost me at the second part. over 250a i will have more than a 10% loss at 20ft. you talkin about 250 amps of current or 250A fuse or what....

I beleive what he is trying to say is if you are pulling 270a through it opposed to the 250a max then you will lose approximately 10% of that extra power over the wires max rating on a 20ft length of cable. Correct me if I am wrong. Basically you would lose appx 1 amp for every 10 over the wires rating at a 20ft length

ah, that sounds like the case. it just sounded weird cause i was only talkin about fuses, sounded like 'if you use over 250a fuse, you will lose voltage.' i'm only gonna be pulling about 190-200 amps anyway.

The 300 should work just fine.

The fuse is there to protect the wire, remember. What knukonceptz meant was that you would lose more than 1.2V because of the resistance of the wire @ 250A of draw. That is where the rating comes from.
