I just call schumacher and they said there are built in saftey features on those chargers that allow them to do 15.1v.

I just talked to my friend with the El Camino who has the biggest speedcharge and it went up to 15.x volts on his charger too for a few minutes.

How long does it stay at 15v while charging? Did the charger go into desulfate mode prior to it charging?

Yes it goes into desultation mode right away if it senses the batt needs it.

Mine stays at 15.4-15.5 for a few hours on the 2amp mode until the batt. reaches 100%. If it's on 8a or 12a mode the 15.x volts will only stay there for about 30 min-an hour until it gets to 100%.

I also find it very interesting to clamp battery chargers, because it'll be in 12a mode or 8a mode and fluctuate current quite a bit due to the little computer chip depending on how well the battery is "accepting" the charge. Very cool to watch.

Guess it will be ok for my batteries, as I check the batteries at least once an hour and they have never gotten more than a little bit warm, and they all float at 13v now as well from being charged up so high I guess. They used to float around 12.6 or so until i started charging them regularly.
