im gunna be runnin 1400 rms.. my normal system cant handle it.. kinetik reccomends the KHC 1800 power cell but its a little pricey.. i was wondering if that was really neccesary or if i could just go pick up a normal battery.. and what are the disadvantages of just having a normal battery as compared to the kinetik..

Yes big 3 first then see if theres a big enough difference. There are brands besides kinetik too. Look for batteries around the same rating as the one you were recommended in terms of Amp hours etc.

What amp(s) do you use?

Kinetiks will not corrode, will not need water, and are much easier to charge than a regular battery. They also last longer.

This is in relation to a very basic oem replacement battery. Many other replacement batteries are just the same as quoted: corrosion resistant, non maintenance, and claim 5-6 year with some sort of warranty. A ton of people use kinetic but ever since powermaster posted on their website a claim or lawsuit against them for their products not preforming up to their advertised and stated standards, I lean towards different brands.

stinger are some good batts and imo better than kinetik
x2

okkk.... almost any dry cell is better than a regular battery stinger are some good batts and imo better than kinetik
My hc 1400 lasted longer than my sp 1000 under the hood and when my sp1000 died all My sidekick had was a cd player in it and an alarm. For the money if you were to want to go stinger I would go Odyssey anyway.

its a kenwood 1800 class d mono amp that i have right now powering a 12" pbx and im about to get the kenwood class d 1000 watt amp to run these 2 ultra linear 10s that i got.

Ton of people still use Kinetik and it is used and recommended by many Major Manufacturers. In the nearly 20 years I have been doing car audio I have owned Optima, Stinger, Streetwires, Kinetik and SVR. The only ones i never really had any problems with were the Kinetik. Even tried a Powermaster d925 in my system and in the system of the person who owned it. That battery now resides in a custom harley at his dad's shop.

This is sort of like Sonic making a claim against McDonald's. Would it stop you from going to McDonald's? This case is also old and is over what the KR16 whatever battery that was not released then. The hc16v has won and set multiple records, won championships itself including titles this year at finals.

no but in my and potentially the OPs case (not to mention a buttload of other people on here and in this thread), we arent competing so its just that easy to go to another brand. It doesnt mean I wont use kinetik, but I am trying other brands first.

very very true:D

Tomorrow or saturday I am putting two kinetik hc 1800's in the back, If I can remember I'll let you know how much if any my numbers jump up and what my voltage is before and after so you can get an idea how much it helps or not.

I'm having some headlight dimming right now so we will see how it helps that as well.

It's not even audio related nor are specs like that audio related. CA is ran down to 7.2 volts over 30 seconds without a care if it stays above 10.5v...same with CCA but at a different temp. You can not run an audio system off of 9- 7.2 volts and a bigger CA battery may VERY well put out LESS power into @10.5v than a lower CA rated battery.

You are entitled to like whatever it is that you wish, but if you use Kinetik the way they are recommended they last a LONG time. I know a couple systems that are still using old HC Power cells (7-8 years old what would be Kinetik today) in pretty large set ups built by the same people who were used in a national AD campaign back in the day for another company listed in this thread. Funny part was by the time that company started using them in ads they already quit using that companies products over durability issues. Was not the wires they didn't like, it was their batteries. I know this because I was used to jump start the car more than once.
