kinetik hc800...still useable?

quick question. I was getting some of my stuff from my parents after moving out, and found my old kinetik hc800 batt. I put a dmm on it to see the voltage on it and it came out to be apox. 10.5v

would i still be able to wire it into my current set up to "charge" up from that low. it be kinda nice to use it again.

Sit it on a charger for a couple days and you should be good to go.

i don't know what kind of special charger it would need, a battery is a battery. i'd put it on the slowest or "trickle charge" the charger allows for.

idk i remember reading somewhere that kinetik and other types of audio batterys need a special charger b/c of their design. i did always find that odd tho...idk anyways thanks ill try that.

also, since your up, do you think that that hc800 would help power a sundown 1500 on a 150 amp alt, and a 0 gauge big 3. be nice not to have to get a new battery.

An AGM auto charger would be best to use as you could pretty much set it and forget it. If you do not have that type of charger you would want to monitor the charger to make sure it did not go over 14.8 volts and prefferrably 14.4 volts if you were going to leave the battery on the charger for an extended period of time. would be wise to monitor it.

as audiolife was saying, you need a charger that monitor's its amperage and steps down as the battery charges to 'leave it and forget it'. The more basic chargers will keep giving the same amperage and the voltage can rise in the 15s and damage the AGM.
