Kinetik HC2000 Install issue

I swapped out my Titan's stock (Big Tow) Battery for this one.

I have Knu Konceptz battery terminal connectors. The Neg one has worked fine but the positive one is way too loose.

Can I get a different top terminal for the Kinetik or will have I to find a different battery terminal connector and re-do all my wiring to match? (Had to make an adapter and re-wire alot of the stock suff I can post pics if it would be helpful...

Anyone else have this problem?

BTW this battery is made in China....I should have purchased an Odyssey instead //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

Kinetiks are made from China?
Yep...If anyone knows what I can do about the positive battery post being too small please elt me know. Otherwise I have to re-install my stock battery so I can drive to work monday. I don't know what I would do with the Kinetik either.

I'd just get a heavy duty terminal at any auto parts store. They'll accept 1/0 and you can change out one of the bolts for a longer one, so you have a stud to attach other ring terminals if needed.

Have you tried switching the posts....sometimes the negative post is a bit smaller......... but if you got the KHC TP top post terminals you shouldnt have a problem.....I have used different types of termainals (Streetwires, Xscorpion, Tsunami, DB Link, etc...) on them and have had no problem....

Loose: I mean that the Knu Konceptz terminal does not clamp to the post. even when I tighten it all the way I can pull the terminal off the battery post.

I need a 0ga port and a place to attach 2 large 0ga ring terminals (I have them stacked using the Knu Terminal) and a place to mount a power wire for my HID foglights.

Here is the terminal I am using.

I think if I order a second Negative terminal it will be a really tight fit (might require the post to be sanded down a bit smaller) The Neg terminals have a smaller diameter than the positive. This is because Positive battery posts are larger in diameter than negative ones. The Kinetics are just not quite large enough or maybe mine is defective?

I tried putting the negative terminal on the positive post (unscrewed the post from the battery) and it was just large enough I could not fit the negative terminal on, but not large enough that the positive terminal would clamp on properly. (So yea I tried swapping posts, Using the Negative Post for positive was WAY WAY too small, probably close to 2mm of play!)

I guess thats what I get for buying china shit. It's funny cause i was talking to my friend about it and we were both wondering why kinetik did not show any data about where it was manufactured on their website...I should have done a little more homework or just gone with the Odyssey.

Where would I go to buy another Positive Battery post? Anyone know if Kinetik Posts are Metric or SAE?

Where can I buy a new Positive Post? I figure the post is defective, not the terminal because I had the terminal connected to the stock battery and it was ok. Although it could be that they are both a little out of spec.

Why don't you use bolts and ring terminals? If I'm not mistaking they take 3/8" dia bolts and a 16 thread. I made a trip up to lowes to buy some longer bolts than the stock ones and some lock washers.

Because I have all different sizes of wire run to the terminals. I have made adapters from the stock wire harness etfc....It's nice to be able to hook things up like extra lights etc, witout resetting the trucks ECU and HU every time.

I also don'y have any more 0ga ring terminals.

Also the Knu Blocks have a nice protective plastic cap for them.

Still need to complete teh big 3 but I need some special tools to get some hoses out of the way to unmount the alternator factory alternator wire (Actualy I will leave it mounted and simply add a second run of 0ga since I'm not thrilled about disassembeling the factory harness)

audiolife:

Well I was hoping to try to get the amprack made today but it is not going to happen...

I bought new posts from Autozone, they kept braking off at the stud (tried 2 sets). I was NOT over-tightening them they would actualy break off while I was attaching the Knu Terminals on. They are Pieses of ****... They did however fit the Knu Terminals a little more snugly. I htink they were only gripping at the base though they seem to be a bit tapered.

So I put the post back on that came with the battery and headed over to Kragen, And well they had the same exact terminals that came on my battery, I didn't even bother screwing them into the battery because the knu Terminals were not tight on them at all...

So I don't know where to go from here I Guess shims are the only option or maybe call Knu and see WTF the problem is. In the meantime I guess I will have to put the stock battery back in.

I found the regular cheap battery mounts at kragen and if I mod the bottom of the stock plastic holder I can put the mounting post through it...I should have bought a battery that uses the **** stock mounts....

Second option is to head over to best buy before they close and pickup another 0ga ring terminal and just use some bolts...But I'd much rather use my Knu terminals.?? Not sure what to do so I guess I will just put the stock battery back in.
