isolators do eliminate the problem of varying charging rates between different brands. but if you start your car daily you probably won't shorten the battery's lifespan by that much having different brands anyhow. why? the alt will charge them both once the car is turned on

But since they have an isolator they can still start there car cus the front batt is not connected to the audio system in no way shape of form.

I haven't ran an isolator in my car ever!

No problems either. Run different brands, but always the same type of battery. I also don't jam on my system with the car off.

I have some little *** honda battery up front, 2 1800's in back. What I did, Right or wrong is put a 250 amp circuit breaker on the power wire going back. When I park it overnight or for the weekend I just hit the breaker.

People say breakers get weak after awhile and my answer is 5 minutes and it's replaced.

The reason I don't put an isolator in is I was told they rob to much current...
