yeah guess so so far i am loving my 2400 kinetik i think i need another one with my zapco 9.0 so 2 of them running off a 80 amp alternator stock everyone says to upgrade it but if i use 2 2400's i am told by car audio shops i am ok as long as i watch my voltage meter. is this correct? but the problem i am seeing is dimming with the one battery not much on the out side head lights but a good amount on the gauge cluster lights at night will getting another 2400 fix this issue from dimming and i alrdy know about getting big alternator will fix it better but i am wanting to know the more batter power i have on reserve does that make it where it wont dim?

Yeah those hc2400's are kick a$$ batts, and id never use anything else, but with just a 80amp alt, your alt wont keep up, your going to over work it, and looking to buy another, so id up grade to at least a 200amp alt, with 1 hc2400, then your not hurting the alt or your amp, and that batt will keep charged more!

wish i could mate but ohio gen said the biggest they can make it is 140 amp on my car. guess the only way to go is to do a custom alternator. to would fit my car. but wouldnt that mean changing my belts and stuff or w/e?

Have you contacted HO alternators ? Phil can hook ya up with an alternator that will fit with output around 200A and you shouldnt have to change any belt lengths.

I used to run 3 AGM batteries off my stock 80 a couple of competition seasons ago, and the 90A stock alternator in my jeep kept up if I left my batteries on overnight trickle charge every couple of days....seemed a easy enough trade off for me.

oh also, im from college station two,....well more bryan than CS, but nice to see another one from there.

try running the power wire for the HU directly from the battery with a fuse instead of through the fusebox with everything else. Your HU amp is drawing enough current to dim your cluster.

second battery would help overall against the drop but wouldnt be self sustaining due to limited charging abilities of the stock alt (would need to be charged at some point when not in use). best fix imo would to do both batt and alt when you could.
