Killed both of my subs :-(

[I Like Waffle]

So i was riding home earlier playing some lil jon, and i see a turtle in the road, so i go to save the turtle. I pick the turtle up and put him in the car so i can take him home and put him in my pond. I then proceeded to drive off and bump lil jon but my gf decides to turn my music down thinking its gonna hurt the turtle. So im like wtf? The turtle will be ok, he doesnt even have ears.

So then i kept turning my music back up, and she turned it down, back and forth for a min. She then cranks it wide open to 64 on the hu and holds it there for like 5 secs, then i turned it off. Just went to drive earlier and noticed when i turn the HU past 30 the subs turn off. I popped the trunk and discovered this is because my amp is going into protect due to both the subs making nasty rattling squealy sounds. Pulled the subs out and the coils are rubbing like a *****. I dont blame her though. All females can be stupid at times so im not really mad. Im sure they just got clipped to death, i probably had the gain too high. It would start clipping around 52 on volume, and i normally listened around 45. I bumped them full tilt for around 6 months with no probs but i knew it was coming. I have a 3 year warranty though but itll cost me around 50$ to get both of them replaced, no biggie.
