I have a plan for a set up that looks something like this... It uses only a carPC and the HU is non-existent right now.

My main problem that I see is that my only volume control would be digital, on the screen's display, and difficult to access quickly.
Currently, if I think I hear or feel my cell phone ringing, I just reach over and hit the "MUTE" button on my Alpine HU. Problem with that is I won't have one on the new all-digital carPC.
Basically, if I had a toggle switch on the main power line between the capacitor and the amp, would it damage the electronics on the amp at all? Is it possible that cutting the power and forcing it back in so brutally is bad for digital amps?
