KickerCVR 12 inch in Ported box

I have a 12" Kicker CVR in a ported box powered by a cheap MA Audio amp at like 400 watts right now.

I just picked up a Kicker 750.1 in a trade. How many watts do you think it will be safe to feed my sub? I was thinking about going for like 600+ but I dont want to blow the sub.

hey, my friend has dual 12"cvrs hooked up to the zx750.1 and they bump pretty hard, i'd personally say that the amp is to strong, (his amp is rated at 912 watts) because the zx's do more than they say...

i'd definently be careful with that one... possibly pick up another cvr on ebay for cheap

I was thinking about picking up another CVR but then I am going to have to build another box

I tested one of my cvrs in my truck box and had a hk1000d on it at a lil over half gain. The sub took it like a champ so just set your gain properly and you will be fine.

Yea but how many watts should I feed it?

You should be fine with 500 daily but set your gains with a dmm and see how the sub takes it. Try 600, if it gets to hot then set it lower.

turn up the gain til it starts to distort then turn it down a touch. you will hear it.
