subs sound like crap

i was wondering i went to bridge my subs yesterday to see how they would sound. i went to hook up the wires and i hade the wires backwords on the amp. it was a stupid mistake on my part. now i get one sound a deep muddy bass sound i have the subs wired back to how they were. wired to both channels. the subs are making a weird muddy sound and i can hear a buzz sound after the subs push back in.i checked the box its ok and the amp is fine. what should i look for when i take the subs out? thank you. amp specs ...300x2 4ohms sub 800 watts 150 rms each.

ok so that would cuz the subs to just sound like crap. i had them on befor there loud and muddy sound. its just one sound coming from them. even when the bass notes change it still sounds the same. i hope u guys understand what im saying.

so what can i do? should i take them out un hook my amp then try to put every thing back to how it was and see if that works? i had them wired how i had them when they were working fine. its such a odd thing to me they look fine but there just not sounding right. any help would be good. i get a hour lunch tomrrow so i could try any thing u guys can come up with. taking them and throwing them as far as i can has been a idea allready... by me
