which one should i get to power a set of RSD comps? people seem to say give them 150 per side. so should i get the 450.2 or the 550.2 to power them? i think i would feel more safe putting the 550.2 on them and setting the gains for 150 with a DMM and have a bit of headroom.

i also know that kickers are under rated a tad and that the 450.2 should do about 175x2 @ 4ohms. (thats what the birth sheets seem to say anyway) should the 25 or so watts be enough headroom to where i would have no chance of clipping?

the last set of comps i had were a set of infinity kappa 6.1's and i blew a tweeter on one side while i had them. i would guess it was from clipping the amp. i don't wanna have problems like this again so what do you guys think is best?

Actually, I'd go with the 550. Not because of the speakers you currently have, but because you'll have more room for upgrades later. If you later want to upgrade to a higher end component set, just about any set you get will handle 200w per side (or more). The 550 isn't much more than the 450.

i think i'll spend the extra few bux and get the bigger one, i'll have extra headroom for the time being and if i do upgrade i'll have enough power on tap.
