Kicker vs. Fi

alright so here is the deal. I have this guy that is a rep in one of the stores I work in. he swears that is civic (sedan) sounds better and will out hit my focus (hatchback). Not to mention he's never heard of Fi and thinks that Kicker is the creator of bass, lol.

Civic:

Kicker SS comps front 6.5in

Kicker KS 3-way 6x9s in the rear

Kicker 800.4 powering the above

2 15" L7's in 3.4 ft^3 sealed

Kicker 2500.1D powering the above

Focus:

MB Quarts QSD 213 fronts (bi-amped)

Hifonics 8408 powering above

Hifonics 2601D for Fi woofer(s)

I would love to make this guys heart stop beating but I know I only about 2400 watts. I am looking at 2 15" Fi.BL in 8ft^3 tuned to 30hz or 3 10" Fi.SSD in 4.5ft^3 tuned to 34hz. btw I can't do a wall b/c I have a roll cage that is being installed. Will I be able to hang or should I go with a different woofer set up? if so what set up and box size?

ok....kicker isnt a cheap brand. Doesn't look like either of you have bragging rights. maybe someone can help you out on here

Grab a pair of 18" Qs or 15" BLs

get a single 18 inch BTL.

2BLS should be better too. They will def sound better

And does he really have 2 15inch kickers in a 3.4cube box. or is that each box is that big.

Dont get it twisted Kickers bang but, the BL 15's with a good ported box and the proper amp powering them will MURDER his set up IMO...

I know we both don't have room for real bragging rights over a lot of ppl but ****, i just want them over him.

I don't have the airspace for 2 18's, I do like the 2 Fi.BL 15s

His box is just barely reaching the min. required for a sealed enclosure on those woofers. I know his woofers are capable of some serious sound but he doesn't have the airspace that those woofers want. His total airspace for both L7s is just 3.4 ft^3

I have more air space to play with than he does so I should be able to put together a woofer combination to beat those L7s. I've seen 2 12" Fi.BL cause flex, his L7's just sound loud, no flex.

hmm. Never heard the FI's play. But I have heard a single 15 L7 in a custom box. Don't know the specs on it but t'was loud... to me

How would 3 10" Fi.BLs do? I would love out knock him with 10s and I like the cleaner sound of 10s.

A bunch of 10's in a nice box could be loud.

An 18" BTL on 2400 watts will make noise. Noise that will be louder than his.

Build your box custom, throw an extra batt to keep voltage high. Probably sub up port back CRX style.... as a suggestion

I have heard a single BTL 12 on 2kwrms it was sick the box was huge. Also i heard Mickey B's BTL 18 on a Kicker KX 2500 it was crazy loud it other cars in the area flexing lmao. Only thing is i don't know if u can really make it happen with **** a small car...

10s sound no cleaner than 18s. Get that crap out of your head right now.
