Kicker VR Comp Question

Ok I took my subs out and they are 4 ohm DVC Can you tell me what how many ohms this was running on my amp.

each speaker is

-(1) is connected to -(2) which runs to the - terminal on the box

+(2) is connected to +(1) which runs to the + terminal on the box and then i had each speaker hooked up normal on the amp, what would happen if i bridged both of them on the amp? how many ohms then? I tried to draw a pic but didnt know how to save it as a jpg. so hope that is enough info, thanx

i have the same subs they probly runnin a 4 ohm load in series sounds like but the only load they can run is either 4ohm or 1ohm it has to be 4 cause your amp will not be workin if they were in 1ohm well not any more:D

Hey guys this is how each speaker is wired and each speaker goes to its own channel on the amplifier. So two 4ohm speakers rigged at 2ohms per speaker is still only 2 ohms on the amp unless i bridge them right?//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/omg.gif.05aa02c3095d6ce9338996654eca0863.gif

is your amp mono stable??? what amp are we talking about???? cause if your wiring each one to a seperate channel of the amp then your wiring it sterio which is a whole nother ball game....below is a pic of 2 4ohm dvc's wired in parallel to their own channel....thas a 2ohm sterio load......

Hey I looked at that kenwood amp and it does look nice i see it says 1ohm stable but where does it say the watts at 1 ohm? I'd perfer not to admit what amp I have, but yes I was dumb and bought a sony 760watt. I fried the first one after 6 months or so waited 3-4 months for a refurbished one to be sent to me and now the second one is fried, i think anyway, the overcurrent light turned on and i just put it in my trunk but i found out when i was messing with my speakers that the color coded terminals on the outside of the speaker box were mixed so i was hooking positive to negative and vice versa, not sure if that is what caused it or not. I am going to try tomorrow if it is nice. L8er //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/omg.gif.05aa02c3095d6ce9338996654eca0863.gif

In the manual it says .........500RMS@1Ohm.

But if ya do get this amp match the gain with the system dont just turn the gain all the way up if ya do it will overheat in 30 min or so and cut off //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/nono.gif.eca61d170185779e0921b0faa9704973.gif

Hey dude!!!

1st you check with a digital tester the ohm of the sub, kicker vr came with 4ohm DVC or 2ohm DVC.

2nd when you have this check the specification of your amps. and then make a mach between your sub and amps.

3rd some amps as per specification work at 1 ohm, but this is fine when you have good current and constatly 14.4 volt. if you do not have good volt then you can fried your amps

if this is what hapens to you try to connect the subs in stereo mode in the amps, this means if you have a sub 4ohm in paralle you conection wil be 2 ohm for each chanel in stero mode. in case of sub 2ohm DVC try them in serie to load 4ohm for each chanel in stereo mode. Finally you amps work in easy way and you will enjoy your system.

Good example of thi is my equipment I have 2-12" 4DVC wiring in paralle in stereo mode at 2ohm each chanel to a rocfork 500s.2 that means 250 rms for each chanel and sound great and I made my installation about 1 year oago

good luck
