Kicker Sub Question

Hello I have a kicker sub question that may sound a little crazy but here goes. My cousin is getinng me 2 Kicker subs but the only thing he knows about them is that they are 500 watts MAX each. So I done some research to try to find the RMS of the subs but since my cus doen't even know the model number that fell throgh pretty fast. But what I did notice was that most if not all of the Subs I found had an RMS that was half of the max. So would it be pretty safe to assume that I should go with 250w RMS for my 500w MAX kicker subs? Thanks for any replies

technically its like peak*.707 or something I wanna say. But yes It seems most place have a peak advertised as double the rms.... Only thing I can think of is wait to you get them and find out. Are these some old school kickers, I didnt know they rated anything with peak power.

if they are new ones the rms is 150, if there old ones your on your own , but to be safe put 150 watt rms to them

Those are the Comps, there still is the CompVR, L5, L7, and the "solo-baric" 's and the solo X

yea i got some old comps pushed then with a MA audio 800 x1 and blew both on the spot
