Solo's have a wee bit more cone area and arent they rated at 5k rms each? either way since your close i wanna hear this

thats the only reason i wanted to go with the solox's. the extra cone area.

i was gonna use a Stetsom 7DK 7 or atomic 7000 if i went with a single amp setup. 2 amps, i'll probably do rockford 4000's...

i talked to ppl at Rd Audio. they said they could make me an amp that would do 8000rms...

i've also been looking into cactus audio... don't know to much about them though

i'd do the solo's. and they'll eat 4-5kwrms daily. 8k on a pair would be sick.

the ten inch and 12 inch spairs are, or so i've heard. and one shouldn't need spairs anymore...

but it wouldn't hurt to re-enforce anyway, lol.

ummm, nope. i've ran the s18x in as little as 5.5ft^3 net 2 36hz with 72in^2 of port. sounded pretty **** good and got respectable loud, 144.4 legal, off just 2500wrms. it got quite a bit louder to the ear when i actually put power to it, 4kw. all in an extended cab silverado.

we've achieved 151 legal @ 51 hz with a pair of s18xs in 14.5 net @ 30hz and 200in^2 of port and 4kwrms. on the pair, not each. and currently, we've got a pair in ~ 13 net @ 36hz, 150in^2 of port and 4kwrms on the pair. haven't metered it yet, but it's close to the 14.5 @ 30hz box. the big box in an escalade, the little box in an h2.

no, they work just fine in smaller boxes. and with minimal power as well. even if one is on a space or cost budget, they'll still work.

yeah i just got the solo x a little while ago and i already burnt the coils and i was only running it with a 2000.1D mono block. if u plan on listening to it often more than just comps i would not get it, but it dose get vary f'in loud.

so far ima go with solo's in 17-20cubic feet tuned low. gonna go with 2 rockford 4000s which usually are around 4600rms.

2 300amp alts. 2 yellow topa up front and 2-4 kinetik's in back

ryen, did your amp clip or have a major drop in voltage? my old car I have 2 db drive platinum 12s with orion 2500s on each on (1200rms subs) and they never blew. even playing my beats or jeezy...

idk i just think it is not ment for daily, due to having a yellow top 200 amp alt og. wire then having it still blow i was only off by 500 rms and i never beat on it for longer than a cupple songs
