I think once i sell my system I am going to get one 10 or 12 solo-x, with a 1000 watt kenwood amp. Would that even pus a 10 or 12? I can get the solo-x 10 for around $350 and the 12 for like $400-450 on ebay so i want to get one for now and another later this summer when i make some more money. I can get the amp for around $150 so i was thinking this would be a good system. How big would the box have to be and would that amp be enough? Which would be better the 10or the 12? I want something with mega spl and decent sq? I want it to be louder than 2-12 cvr's with the same amp, would this setup be better? Would the eclipse sw9122 or mtx thunder 9500's be louder than the solo-x's? Thanks

1000watt rms kenwood amp or max? we'll hope RMS

and yeah if it is, then youll need at LEAST twice the power imho to get your $ worth out of the X. and hopefully have have upwards of 4 cubes to work with

but the x def. has the potential to get louder

First of all it will probally kill your amp, for a 10 or 12" I would usally stick to around 4 cu net tuned to 34hz in daily setup. Which will be better a 10 or a 12? I think you can answer that question better in what sq 10" better in spl 12" thats some pretty basic thinking. Since I can get a sense that you don't know much about this stuff I don't want to rain on your parade but let me enlighten you I'm guessing your running stock eletrical system, 4 ga, pre-fab box just keep what you have now save all the money you can and then at the end of the summer when you want a system stick to 1 10" or 12" get a better amp to run it then one that cost $150 like you said look into a directed 2400d on ikesounds for 275shipped spend 50 bucks on 0ga power and ground and the big 3, spend 120 bucks on a yellow top up front. And either have someone build you a box or learn how to build your own.

Also, dont listen to the "10 for sq, 12 for SPL" stuff either. Really, your best bet would be to PM Polecat, he will point you in the right direction.

you only have a 1000 watts, and you want to save up for another solo-x? if you have a system now, and the cash for a solo-x, i say get the x, and save up for another amp. or if you want to keep the amp, and get another system now i say go with the MTX.

the solo-x is a power hungry monster, 1000 watts is barely a snack.

this guy is a class act your really trying to talk down on zsody are you serious this guy said he was going to buy one off ebay for 400-450bucks so why whould zsody not try to offer the guy a better deal w/ 350 plus shipping on his solo-x see hes trying to help your doing nothing to help. And when I said that last commet you quoted it was becuase he was being very broad with his question what will be better a 10" or 12"? What about a kenwood 1800 watt mono amp? I really dont want to spend $300+ on an amp. I found a kenwood 1800 watt max on ebay for around $200. My friend has one and it sounds great so i thought i would get one as well, but his is hooked up to 2-12 cvr's. Right now I only have a legacy 2400 watt amp, I know it is really a bad amp but what do you think about running that to a solo-x until i get enough money this summer? How loud will one 10 solo-x get? Louder than 2-12 cvr's? Thanks for the help.

yes, it will be louder. Nowe, me personally I'd do the 10" X and get at least 2000 watts to it, what's is your max budget for an amp?

I dont really have a max price, right now i have no money because i havent sold my subs or amp yet, but this summer i should be able to spend around $500, but i would rather spend like $200 on an amp and buy two of them and get two 10s or maybe 12s since they are the same wattage.
