jl 8w7 power handling

what is the most a jl8w7 cn handle. I am considering one but my amp puts out 700@4ohm rms, 1000@2ohm rms. it is a kaption hc250.2 is this to much? http://www.kaptionaudio.com would I be better off running two? or possibly one 10 or 12?? Also can you get it in a dual voice coil cofig.?? I didnt see it on their website but on ebay some vendors stated they were.

i dont think you can really get any w7 in a dvc, i'd be careful putting a w7 on your amp. the w7 was ment to be used on the jl slash series amps,your amp will prolly start clipping if you 3 ohms to high

i dont think so, any sub can be used on any amp as long as the impedance isnt too low. his amp would also start clipping if he was at a 4 or 2 ohm load and he had his gain up to much. if his amp is stable down to 2 ohms why would it clip anymore at 3 ohms than it would at 2 or 4 ohms?

i think you would be better of with a 10" or 12" W7, i think your amp would do ~850 watts at 3 ohms which is good for both of those subs.

clipping a Kaption? an 8 W7 takes less than 250 RMS to power it. Kaption will put out in between 800 and 1000 at 3 ohms.

I have 2 JL 10W7s. I was going to put them on my Kaption until I bought a USA-400X (1500 RMS //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif). The way I was going to do it was have 3 ohms per channel. They would be getting 250-400 RMS.

i have a JL1000/1 on my 2 8"w7's and i love them..........RMS on the 8 is 300 but you can be safe with putting 500 to one with no issues

I was asking 600 plus shipping for both W7s. I MIGHT be getting a third W7 which I would be selling for 300 plus shipping.

They are BNIB. I just got a USAMP off ebay to power the 2 so it would be silly to sell them now //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif. Ill let you know on that third one if you want.

Only the 13W7 is available in a DVC, and it's DVC 1.5ohm.
