kicker SOLO X vs JL AUDIO W7

honestly guys, i agree with most of hte people in her, this thread is blown out of porportion. i agree that the solo xis for spl, the w7 is for sq. and the guy who stated about size difference that was my point also. the solo x is 18" and is square while the jl w7 biggest one is the 13.5" circle. ur not even comparing same sizes. and they aren teven close to being on the same level imo. the jl w7 is an all around sub to listen to while the solo x is ppurlely spl comps and db drag or so. how many people do you think woudl send 10k watts to their solo x and ddrive areound town listneing to music, or bass cds? how many pepole would you see in Mcdonalds parking lot saying hey listen to my stuff! thats just crazy, the only reason why i would ever get a solo x which will probaly never will would be in comps or so and even at that i would spend my $ on some other type of subs. it hink its pretty ridiculous and overpriced myslef. well thats my opinion. they arent comparable subs and this thread needs to go on....... haha //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Yeah it does slam that is granted....But it almost sounds as good as you trying to pass that RF Punch 501S (500wrms x1@4ohms) off as a 1500watt amp..........LOL

not to be offensive here, but has anyone done their research before they started going off on a JL Kicker war. For one thing,

On the other hand, I have the JL, LOVE IT and its good enough. Considering you don't really know what to get and just want an opinion, there is NOO way you could possibly want to have 5000 watts RMS in your car. In terms of quality, if you look above, you can see that it does have that too, but for friggen 1800 bucks, the JL looks like a cheap toy and that is the one criticism of the JL (PRICE).

If I were you, and were looking to spend a good amount on a sub, buy even two 12W7's and youll be blown away. No doubt about it

Honestly, you can get the SOLOX for around $700 if you look hard enough online. http://www.hookontronics.com has it for $700-800, si it's not NEARLY as expensive as you're making it out to be.

I see I see thanks for clearing that up...Although in the car audio world very little attention (if any) is payed to the max wattage of an amp as you will be very hard pressed to EVER see that kind of power....When RF started putting the Max power on the heatsink of the amp is pretty much when they started going down hill.....I can remember when a 500wrms RF amp really meant you were pushing like 800+wrms!!!

Ok, guys. I love JL's and Kicker so this is not a biased post. I am going to quote something out of kickers catalog which is true or they would get sued. "How does it perform? It grabbed world championships in its first spl competition (that means its loud) - AND in its first sound quality competition (that means it sound good)" I wrote it as it was written in the texts so there you have it for what its worth. You can give me either one and I'll be happy.

It was in a VEHICLE used in a sound competition. The drivers weren't even on during the SQ portion of the testing, just the SPL portion. Kicker admits that.

It won't sound as good as a W7 guys, you're delirious and/or uneducated if you think it will...
