Kicker KX2500.1??????

Kickers website says that the huge 2500.1 is only 2 ohm stable. Is that true? I would have thought for sure that the 2500.1 would be 1 ohm stable. I was looking at putting one of these on a dual 2 ohm 12" soloX and it needs to be 1 ohm stable.

ive heard really good things bout that amp but i dont know the answer to that question just thought i would put my 2 cents in

yea i thought it was a good amp but if its only 2 ohm stable then ill just go with 2 smaller 2 ohm stable amps, one for each coil.

That seems really strange that much amp isn't stable at 1 Ohm but I couldn't say for certain never having ran one.

Yea i thought it was strange also, kicker website says that its only 2 ohm stable but i was hoping it was wrong because if i cant run that then ill run 2 Infinity 1211a's to each VC of the SOLOX.

But i would really like an answer on this. lol

It is 2 ohm and the new ZX series 2500.1 is 2 ohm also.

Its a 2 ohm stable amp....and tracy will shoot me for telling you this.....but I run 2 of mine daily at 1 ohm each and they have no issues.

We've got one in a customer's truck running at 1ohm on a pair of soloX 10"s for daily.....no problems as long as you have the battery power to run it.

well i want to put one on a solox 12" running at 1 ohm for daily. I plan on adding an extra battery but should i upgrade the alt.? and to what amp should i make it?

It's in a dodge ram ext.cab with I think a 140A alt....He's got a yellowtop under the hood and three batcap800s in the back for juice.

EDIT...He's got a bunch of video and acc stuff too, he doesn't need all that just for the amp.

yes, the KX2500's have always been 2 ohm stable, can they run lower, as Carlton and Erik, looks like they do fine...as far as juice, I'm just adding two Kinetik battery's to mine, have a ZX850.4 and a KX25001, so installing a HC1800 under the hood and an HC2400 for the system.

KX2500.1 is rated at 2,500rms @2ohms. Whether you want to take the chance and run it @1ohm:naughty: is up to you. I know some people that have done it.
