Kicker CVR pretty underated on power handling

I knew the 12's were underated some. But between the 12 and 15 looks like it goes from a 2 inch coil to a 3. The 15 is what I am maily talking about. It is rated 500watts rms but I would guess it would take about 750 to 800. Last weekend guy comes in with a pair of them on a planet audio 2250 (rated 2300RMS) on a pair of them tearing into them. I figure he is going to blow them, so I ask him how long you had them like that... he goes about 2 months I am like wtf? those are taking that amp

OK sorry did more research. I find specs for power acoustik a3000db and same board as the 2250 according to realm of excursion

just because he has a 2300watts amp doesn't mean he's using all 2300watts

not to mention isnt the 3000db supposedly like way overrated, like it says 2300 put your looking more at like 1700-1800?

No I am aware due to impedence rise. But I never really caculate that in except for my systems I use for competitions. Either way. even if the amp is slightly overrated still figure 2000rms. 1000rms each speaker. Pretty impressive

x2 ran 2 12s on 2600 rms, blew em, but they took it like a champ for like 20 mins

yea i know a guy that has a power bass 3000 hooked up to a pair of 12cvr's in kicker prefab box idk wat omh load w/e it is when u buy the prefab setup and he has gains all the way turned up on the amp and been like that for over 5 months and hasnt blown them yet
