I have two 10" kicker comps (4ohms) in my truck box. I am running a crunch powerone P1-1000.2 1/2 channel amp and was wondering how i could wire the speakers for the best sound? Would the way i wire it make a difference in sound? if you need more info just ask and ill do my best to come up with the answers.

Best sound? Get a Monoblock amplifier that has Low Pass Filter (LPF) and wire your amplifier to 2 ohms since that's your only option other than 8 ohms but 2 ohms is a good load and efficient on most amplifiers and set the LPF between 65-80hz depending on what blends best with your mids/highs.

Also a sealed enclosure usually works great in trucks and that usually gives a punchier cleaner bass thats unless you know how to properly build/tune a ported enclosure. Then again if your truck doesn't have room then a ported enclosure won't yield high output levels.

Well I'm looking for deep bass, and doesn't the crunch amp have a LPF I thought?

How would I wire them at 2 ohms? The box I have now is completely sealed its fits perfectly under my 99 ford f150 bench with a half seat at the end.

You're right sorry about that they have a xover for LPF & HPF for some reason I was thinking of a 4 channel lol my apologies. You just wire in parallel Positive to Positive Negative to Negative and bridge your amplifier.

This should help:

Yeah no prob I was just making sure, so would it be wise to still get a mono block? And do you have a link that shows me how to bridge them properly? What would be the result of bridging them?

On your amplifier where the speaker terminals are there should be a diagram near the +'s / -'s underneath that show you how to bridge. I always run monoblocks for subwoofers, 2 channels for mid drivers and 4 channels for components but it really doesn't matter that much. I would honestly consider moving towards a good 300-400RMS monoblock just for the sake of it but for now no a 2 channel will be fine those subwoofers arent exactly powerhouses just usually 2 channel amplifiers are more expensive for less power.

The kickers are decent but only rated at 150w so wiring to 8 ohms Will be plenty of power. I have a pair Ive run 750 to and they got stinky but loud. A decent built ported box should give you what you want tuned around. 32hz

Honestly comps like higher tuning in the 35hz range or so I tried lower boxes on my 15" comps and they failed. 8 ohms would normally be fine but that amplifier doesn't do rated and if it does anywhere near rated it requires 14.4v just to come close so chances are 2 ohm is where he'll want to be plus he can just turn the gain down a bit and it should be a bit cleaner. Now if this was a BRZ1200.1D or something I would say different. and I'd say comps are a bit under-rated I ran an AP1500.1D to 2 C15's for months before they finally got stinky this was at 2 ohms though so they were only seeing about 1k but still that's twice their RMS in a crappy enclosure that was far too small and a budget amplifier.

Yannoh I have them wired now from each of the spreakers to the amp so all of my ports (4) are wired and I can see we're it says bridged, and they hit pretty hard, but only on the highs and some lows of some songs, but you think it could be just my box? Or would bridging them make them hit lower bass?

It shows the bridged formation under the terminals:

Also keep in mind that amp is only rated to be stable at 4 ohms bridged, which you can't achieve with those subs, or a high impedance load. Wiring to 2 ohm, you'll want to be very careful in most cases.

Edit: My bad, I thought you said you can't see where it says bridged.

Yeah so I have them wired + and - from one speaker to + and - on the amp same with the other speaker. Would it be best to get another amp? Or a new box? Or bridge the amp?
