just order my kicker comp vr 15 a prefab audio enhancer sloted enclosure 5.6 cubic feet gonna run about 800watts rms to this thing i had 2 audiobahn 1208ts did i i make wise choice to sale them and get this kicker not sure on my box tuning

the audiobahns might have been a little louder but you made a good decision nonetheless.. the CVR is gonna sound much better, especially if its tuned lower. and they still get pretty loud. 800 might be pushing it in such a large box though.. might just want to watch your gains a little..

tell up how it sounds when you install it.

what factor will the size of the box and the power play on this woofer the box i have is made fpr tbe comp vr 15

Smart choice.

Like Andon said tha audiobahns will be a little louder but the compvr will sound a lot better.

cripe, i dont know the series of those audiobahns and i know the cvr will be be "better".

well the new comp VR is rated at 500 rms. sealed it takes it no problem.. ported 500 is probably about the most you want to send it.. 600 probably wouldnt be too bad (ported box = less power handling.. so you could probably give it 750 sealed and 600 ported) thats all fine.. but then bigger box, regardless of wheteher its sealed or ported also = less porwe handling.. so yeah its to kicker spec.. and itll still handle the 500 rms its rated for in that box, but i doubt itll take 300 more watts.

i tried to make this simple but it ended up not working hah.. basically.. power handling decreases with size of box and it being ported. i think 800 would be pushing it sealed as it is.. i think 800 might be too much for a large ported box.

so set the gains on your amp low.. and try to send it more like 5-600 watts. youll get all you can out of the sub, dont worry. those extra few hundred watts arent worth the danger of blowing it.

and these re all estimates based on my experience with the 03 VR.. the 05s take power a little better.. but dont get too cocky with your amp.
