Your going to need at least 4 ga preferably 2 or 0 with a sub that big. And your going to need to upgrade your alternator if you have a stock one.

Lol I forgot about the alternator that's not a cheap upgrade... What if I got the 15? Would I still need to upgrade it? The wires I'm fine upgrading they're not that expensive

that HFI 1000 amp accepts up to 4 gauge, try to get that up. Use 12 gauge speaker wire for the subs. Look up the big 3 upgrade and get a digital multi-meter to monitor voltages. If you are dropping below 12 volts then you need to do the big 3 upgrade. If its not below 12 volts then you are fine. You do NOT need an upgraded alternator for only 1000 watts. Just monitor and upgrade as needed, if its not needed, no need to dump money in it.

Before making the decision of going an 18 or 15, measure the dimensions of the free space you have. Nothing worse then squeezing a big sub in a small box, that will make you lose output and sound quality.

Measure the max length, width, and height and i'll let you know what size sub you should go for. You also need 4-6 inches of free space away from the hatch/trunk so the port can breath and "load" properly. sound needs to travel and reflect in order to get loud. Same with the subs being too close to the roof so really need the Dimensions. Boomsday will need that info too, Private Message him about it.

Just run at least a 4 ga power and ground from your alternator to your battery for more charging current then run a 4 gauge ground from your alt to your frame and from your battery to your frame and you should be fine.

you are okay with your current amp. At 1 ohm that amp puts out around 600 watts which is okay. You can always get a quality amp later, just get the sub and box in first.
Cause I just got my current amp 3 days ago I wanna return it and get a better one for the 18
