Item(s) for Sale:

pair of kicker comp 10 s4

Item(s) Description/Condition:

10/10 everywhere they look new and are just broken in they have been mounted and used lightly.

these were bought for the wow factor since they get decently loud in big boxes i tossed them in a big under seat box and they provided the shock and awe i was looking for. no one believes they are comps the first time they hear them.

these are budget subs and generally dont impress anyone i worked for a shop and used them to show newbs what a budget sub system can do best case scenario. then they were used daily at low levels for about a month. now im getting rid of the truck so they need to go to

Price:

100 shipped

Shipping and Miscellaneous Item Information:

ups insurance if wanted is covered by buyer

My 12's I had in my truck where very loud for 300 daily...
The key word in this statement is "truck" I've heard these in a trunk and they are very Lack Luster. I even threw 1000wrms to a pair of Comp 15's and they were mediocre in an SUV/Trunk.

what size box cuz these like big sealed boxes, ported sux with them and ive tossed some power to mine and for a bottom line sub they aren't bad at least for mainstream, compared to a rockford prime or p1 these were louder in direct swap and cheaper iirc

Would you guys recommend two Kicker Comp 12s over two Kenwood KFC-W112s on a Sony Xplod 800w max amp bridged to 340w RMSx1 @4ohm?

This would be in a trunk of a '02 Escort ZX2 in a 1.49 per chamber ported box.

If so, I'm interested in these.

the comp 12s wont do good in that box size the 10s will the 12s need around 2 cubes to be decent but again theses sub work best in larger sealed boxes a 2 cubes sealed box does these two tens wonders

the kenwood also wont do good in the same box and again10s fit better for that airspace

The Kenwoods need 1.0-2.0 cu feet per chamber, my box is extremely close to 1.5 which in the manual it states is the nominal air space, and I'm talking net here. But good to know on the Comps, guess I'll stick with the Kenwoods for now then.

its really hard to just bring manufacturers' recommendations into the situation as they are a good starting point but not always accurate.

1 cube ported to say 38 hertz is going to be particularly peaky around tuning and the response is going to fall off rather quick above and below tuning,

where as the 2 cubes tuned to 38 will have a much more flat response and be able to play lower as well as higher into the bass range much better than the smaller box

my typical 12 enclosure is around 2.2net unless the sub is particularly known for using small boxes like the dayton ho
