Here's a box I designed. Kicker recommends between 3 and 6 cubic feet of space for a 15" L7 in a ported enclosure. This one comes in at 5.05 cubic feet with a double front flush mount baffle for the woofer. Once the woofer is in place the internal volume available will be just 5 cubic feet even. It has a slot port that is 5" wide and 20 1/2" tall for a total of 102.5 sq. inches of port area, so it'll have plenty of port to breath and no port noise. The port length is tuned to 34 Hz so it'll hit the lows nicely.
Here's a 3D rendering I did in google sketchup. I would've done some 45 degree pieces in the port and rounded the corners, but I'm not on my regular computer, I'm on a Mac so it's weird using sketchup with no right click button //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/tongue.gif.6130eb82179565f6db8d26d6001dcd24.gif
Here's the first one, has textures, wood + carpet
And here's another picture with a see-through view and some of the dimensions.
Good luck, let me know if you need any other tips or advice. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
your design looks about right bro nice one. although since he wants it to be angled that is going to fvck with that whole design!!! time for a new one! **** i hate that!
So what you're saying is that the 28" of depth is the max measured at the trunk floor and that with the seats leaning back, the top needs to be approx 4 inches shorter than the bottom to sit flush against the back of the seat?
i still have about 6 inc. depth allowance. i have sony xm d1000p5 i am wondering if i can use this with 08s1572 if not. what kicker amp should i buy? advice needed pls..
I'm still a little confused as to what your exact dimensions are. Any chance of a photo of your trunk with some dimensions scribbled in Microsoft paint or something? I'm confused as to what angle of a slant you need the back of your box to be to fit flush against the back row of seats.
