Ello?
OK I have a Kicker amp, which is a SX 400.2. (which has a DSP)

The dudes that installed my stuff made it all sound fine, but then i tried to listen to the different presets (mem1, mem2, mem3, and mem4) that were already there (actual buttons). Right when i press mem1, my bass was almost all gone from my sub and i can hear the lyrics and higher stuff, stuff that should not be coming from my sub. I tried all of the other presets and its all about the same.

Could anyone tell me how to make it back to normal, with just lots of bass going through it? I tried to set the high-pass to like 10 and left the low-pass at 20,000. I'm confused.

Here is the page with the interactive DSP thing. (near bottom)

http://www.kicker.com/ShowPage.cfm?filename=sxamps.htm&menu=SXAMPS

Thanks

i have no idea about the amp. but whats your whole setup?

low pass is for bass so it should be at about 125hz or lower.

the high pass is for 125hz and higher. usually.

they prolly need more info...

ok after messing with that when you hit the mem1 button it turned off the lo pass filter.

1.go into lo-pass

2. go into slope and put that to 12

3. go back into lo-pass and set the frequency to about 120HZ (this is what you adjust to have higher bass.)

let me know how that goes....

thanks dude

i changed the slope to 12DB and the lo pass to 119hz, and looked around and found the GAIN. Changed the GAIN to +12DB, which before it was 0 or 1 DB and had no noise.

Now it's like it was before i messed with it, but a little bit more BASS on my custom configuration on the HU. I try to keep all the bass out of my front speakers and just highs and mids in my rears

i'm suprised more people dont own these SX amps, you have maximum control over your sound and it gives u tons of info like voltage, temperature, etc

yeah looked sweet but i have no money........... my wife tells me to stop teasing myself by coming here. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

Ok, i need a little help.

now my sub kinda sounds weird like its gonna blow whenever it hits hard now. before, it would get pretty loud before sounding like this, but now it mid-volume it will sound kinda like the whole cone is gonna pop out or something. maybe the gain is too high (12db)? or maybe the slope is too high? what can i do to keep it from blowing?

edit: ok i read a lot on http://www.bcae1.com/, and i think that my sub is "clipping" which can burn my voice coil or w/e. I turned the gain on my amp to 12db, the highest, which is probably not so good. i guess i should turn it down to 8db or so.

go to our website ( http://www.kicker.com)m and download the 'quick start setup' for the SX amps...you need to have it re-set properly, then lock it so nobody will be able to change the settings. The manual will also be able to help, and the DSP has many ways to fine tune the setup, but you really need to know what each setting means before adjusting the amplifier.

If you can't get it cleard, you can either return to the dealer and have him reset, or call our 800# tech line.

Thanks, polecat, more help than the kicker email support. I emailed them asking about my low sub volume and stuff, and he just said take it back to the dealer.

Alrighty, whenever i listen to the radio, I get ZERO bass (like the subs are gone) and my fronts sound high. I didnt change anything on my head unit, and i found out about this just now b/c i dont listen to the radio very much.

Any suggestions?

download that start up guide, and have it reset to factory settings, the you can play with it from there..
