Your not getting it.

Kicker CVR subs have dual voice coils

If its a dual 2 ohm sub you can not wire it at 2 ohm

oh ****

so a 4 ohm sub would actually be better

cause you can wire it to 2 ohms

**** my sub right now is 2 ohms

jl audio w3

so a 2 ohm sub running to a mono amp is actually a 4 ohm load running through the amp

which means im only pushing 150 watts at 4 ohms right now

because my amp is 300 watts at 2 ohms

Haha i was thinking the same thing..

You only want that amp IF the sub turns out to be dual 4 ohm coils. There are only two options. When you wire it up it will either be a 2 or 4 ohm load. There is no changing it. Just let us know what ohms it is when you pick the sub up man..

so getting a dual 4 ohm will push more power after you wire it?ok so im only pushing 150 watts right now?

A dual 4 ohm will be better to get more power out of the amp, so basically yes.

That depends is the w3 a dual coil sub? Im not familiar with it..

almost positive its dual.so you cant run a 2ohm sub with a 2ohm load to the amp?

i thought it was the other way around

thats weird
Do you remeber how many +/- Terminals were on your sub?

I am thinking you have a single 2 ohm sub now which you would be able to wire to 2 ohm

alright the guy just called me backits a 2 ohm sub well **** now i wish it was a 4 ohm ha

so what kind of amp would be best
Ill sell you my MA audio 500 watt amp for $80 bucks shipped if you want.

Maybe not the best option for you though depends if you are looking for cheap and pretty good or BEST

You probably could run 600 watts to that sub if you really want to?

well i wanna be safe with it cause i dont wanna blow anything cause i dont have much money man.

is 600 to much?

can you give me an example of an amp that would work

so i would have to find an amp now that would have 500 watts at 4 ohms?

thats gonna be hard to find isnt it

No my MA audio amp does 500 watts at 4ohm

If you set your gains right you will be fine with 600 though.

Which do you want me to look for? Ill give you a few examples
