Kicekr KX1200.1 @ 0.67-ohm Load

Okay, I just bought a friend's set of 3 JL Audio 12W3's. The older ones (not the new ones with a flat cone). I like the older ones. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Anyway, his subs are all Dual 4-ohm. So, I will have either a 0.67-ohm load or a 2.67-ohm load.

Now, I was wondering if I can safely run the KX1200.1 amp @ 0.67-ohm load daily with no modifications?

Otherwise, I may get a Kicker KX2500.1 amp and try it @ 2.67-ohm. That should still provide a significant amount of power.

ya itll overheat and shut off if not fry..tried doing a 1 ohm load on one of those an it didnt work..try 2.67 and see if itworks well..

That amp is rated at 1 ohm. It will run fine all day long at 1. Ive ran mine for over three years at 1 ohm. I doubt it will run at .67 though. It should go into protect if dont like it not fry.

That makes sense considering the zx series runs at 1 ohm and its rated at 2. Wouldnt it go into protect instead of frying anyways?

tried my zx300.1 at one ohm for a half hour... gain set conservatively at 1/3 i could boil eggs on the thing...
