I got a new T8004 that puts out 1240 watts so its grossly underated and big @ 26lbs but I am contimplating getting a Kicker SX900.4

I know all about the dsp features of the SX line so dont need to mention that but outside that , which one would you use and why?

I may sell the T8004 and get a SX900.4

I'd stay with the RF , the Kicker is nice but with so many companies putting DSP in their decks having it on the amp is a moot point , I have it turned off on my X4 because I use the DSP on my deck . And I seriously doubt that the Kicker is gonna push as many watts ....

Wow...you have 36dB/oct slopes, phase control on each channel, 1/12 oct x-over points from 30-16khz, and 4 way capabilitiy on your deck?? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crazy.gif.c13912c32de98515d3142759a824dae7.gif//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/up2something.gif.dd110ecf3ae4b76050d87598f2f8de7c.gif

Last time I checked it was an amplifier, not a wattifier. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/tongue.gif.6130eb82179565f6db8d26d6001dcd24.gif

By the way, Kicker is a brand name owned by Stillwater Designs...a company that has be around just as long as RF.

I was just stating my opinion , he already has the RF , is he going to see a BIG gain by switching to the Kicker ? Is all that DSP power built into the amp important to him ?

And No my deck does not have all the features you mentioned but what it does have works well and sounds good .

And what the hell does Stillwater Designs being around as long as RF have to do with what amp will suit him better ?

I was NOT bashing Kicker I like them , killer customer service and great product .

Hell I use their speakers and have used their amps and subs , and installed a chitload of Kicker equipment for other people .

If he does not take advantage of the built in processing, then it would not be a wise move to give up the power the RF provides. For future upgrades, it's nice to have big 4 channel around that is as flexible and versitle as the SX amps.

I just wanted to throw that little nugget o information in about Kicker...but you're right, it has nothing to do with his original question. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/blush.gif.99bc659ee2012b7d826165e26fb5eebe.gif
