I write in English I have no idea what RTFM means. I guess us 80's kids just know how to type (we had typing classes, they sucked).
At least the other idiot can feels some relief knowing that his long lost twin is on board.I write in English I have no idea what RTFM means. I guess us 80's kids just know how to type (we had typing classes, they sucked).
Great. Anyone with a half a brain can do the same with the 9887, which obviously excludes two folks in this thread.Don't worry I bought a x993 and figured it out in 20 mins w/o a man (ok I had to look once).

Tell us all a little about SQ, rear fill boy. The internal amp can be turned-off, as if it matters, and 9887 plays CDs. What does a motorized faceplate have to do with a deck's sound quality? When the last time Alpine made a dead head? What happened to motorized faces? Why don't they support .wav files?
Why aren't you playing the original media, or an identical transfer? They only support compressed file formats...lame
Wait, what? You're saying this as if you're used to reference-level sound, yet you have a system with the resolution of a wet sock. Get a grip.I'm sorry you think those cds are so awesome recorded at 16bit 44k sample rate. But when you have a studio and record at 24bit 192k it makes a big difference. Also the actual CD player mechanism adds noise. That laser reading your cds makes just as much error as it plays as when you rip a cd. Considering there is a tremendous amount of oversampling and error correction when ripping, Id rather go that way.
...or reliability with quicker access.Going manual face just tells me their going cheep.
Says the 1000/1 and low end rainbow rocking geniusits not about equipment, it's about setup. Don't waste your money just for peace of mind.
