Kenwood X693 vs Alpine 9887

Alright FJF and Raver, I'll speak really slowly. I understand you can adjust the EQ's out of the box, but to be able to adjust JUST THE BASS/TREBLE out of the box, MULTI-EQ MUST BE ENABLED. YOU CANNOT ENABLE IT WITHOUT RUNNING THE IMPRINT. Therefore, the bass/treble (simple settings) are locked out until you run imprint. That's what I was trying to say before you both got your panties into such a twist. As far as the links I added, if you actually read them, you'd see others had the same problem...THEY COULD NOT ACCESS THE SIMPLE BASS/TREBLE CONTROLS. I know the threads dealt with tuning, but there were others in the thread that could not get to the bass/treble controls. That's what I've been saying. Here are 2 more links if you actually care to read them, where people COULD NOT ACCESS THE BASS/TREBLE CONTROLS WITHOUT RUNNING IMPRINT. We could simply clarify and move on...but you'd rather start the juvenile name-calling. I mis-typed in my earlier post when I said "all of the tuning features" are locked, I meant simple bass/treble controls. By the way, I did RTFM. I'm sure you had a harder time getting through it seeing as there were very few pictures.http://www.hawkee.com/shop/prod/2372251/

I think we're done here. As I didn't know that you're mentally disabled, please accept my sincere apology. It's my fault for not seeing the signs.

**** ok then if u want quick acess to bass treble then buy a cda-9886 that has them

if you want a good EQ and crossover adn time allignment then buy a cda-9887

I agree, I was simply stating that there were "locked" items in the unit until you run Imprint, then you guys start with the name calling and demeaning insults. I didn't know anything about time alignment and "good" EQ's. I didn't even know what a parametric EQ was. I barely knew anything about crossovers. I bought the unit as I wanted what everybody claimed was the best, and I was willing to learn. I learn a little more each day, and I'm able to admit when I'm wrong, unlike some others. It's nice that there are some here who are willing to help you learn without being jacka$$e$ about it.

FJF, I am done here, my point has been proven. The simple bass/treble controls are LOCKED. There is a bass/treble only menu available AFTER YOU RUN IMPRINT. Otherwise to adjust bass/treble, you have to go through the parametric EQ. We could argue all day over "who wants to use the simple controls", but you got all high and mighty over the fact that NOTHING IS LOCKED ON THE UNIT. Guess you were wrong. If you would take your head out of your a$$, you would have seen that I stated that I MIS-TYPED, the only thing "locked" is the simple bass/treble settings. THEY ARE NOT ACCESSIBLE UNTIL YOU RUN IMPRINT. Not everybody wants to mess with a parametric EQ to make a quick on-the-fly adjustment for a song or two. Your apology is accepted. You can't see the sign because it's hanging around your kneck. So you can take your smarta$$ self out of the thread.

Not all of us know everything there is to know as you do. Some of us actually come to the forums to learn. Apparently you joined to spread your sarcasm to everyone here, and we thank you for it. I apologized that I mis-typed as far as what was locked, but you're apparently too small of a person to admit any error on your part, or maybe your HUGE E-penis is in the way. You should have a long and happy life as we all know that God looks out for drunks and fools.

Is it physically painful to be this stupid? My comments referred to your claim, which you admit was incorrect. The language in a reply is not generated in a vacuum and I don't read minds.

If it weren't for folks trying to correct dumbasses like you, this forum would feature more misinformation than it does already. You should be grateful. At least now you know the difference between tuning features and tone controls.

i know man but it seems to be really not getting thru to you since you got stuck on those dumb reviews of the noobs that accidentally bought more than they can handle.

i just went and looked at the 9887 and

yes u re right theres no bass and treble because there is a 5 BAND EQ buit in.

9887 is not a bang for the buck deck that u slap into your car and have one dumb button to push.

its an entry level quality deck kinda like a canon relel XS DSLR camera.

have you ever used an SLR camera?

it doesnt come with view finder so you have to use the lens optics. theres a reason for that.

or drive a race car, it also doesnt come with automatic transmission and has tonns of gauges that would tell you absolutely nothign unless you are pro race car driver.

the point is, you reading the feedback from people that dont know shit about car audio and bought the deck simply because"more expensive is better" without knowing what they re getting into.

oh i see now where its coming from

you have the pioneerDEH-P980BT that comes with it built in.(and you assume that now you should be able to have those features in the alpine that is 200 dollars cheaper than the pioneer you have. (which i belive doesnt come with a microphone either)

and yes the pioneer has the features like auto EQ built in

lol man you amaze me.

do you not understand that those features are not in the unit they are in the imprint box

your **** brain is locked

theres nothing to lock on teh unit because its not there

you cannot lock something that is not present in the unit....

There's nothing to "get through to me". I understand what the Imprint does. As I stated, I bought the unit because I wanted to learn how to use the settings. I read the reviews stating that it was a great unit, and I wanted to learn to use it. I wanted to learn how to tune the car by ear. I also purchased the Imprint, because I wanted to hear what it would sound like when tuned with the Imprint, and I knew I could sell it without any trouble (which I did). I'd never set any time alignment or adjusted any parametric EQ's, BUT I WANTED TO LEARN HOW TO DO IT. The simple bass/treble menu is there after you run the IMPRINT. Your's doesn't have it, because you've never run Imprint. The reason I have the P980BT now is because the CDA-9887 was in my WIFE's car. I wanted the built-in bluetooth, and I wasn't going to run active. Again, I'm here to learn, I adamantly typed the unit's settings were locked AND I WAS WRONG.

I'm starting to feel like I'm talking to a child.

See, I went back over what I posted and realized I was wrong. I am pi$$ed because you feel the need to be-little people. Some of us are here to learn, but obviously you are not able to teach. It's good you have so much knowledge in your head, too bad you can't relay it to anybody without coming off as a complete jacka$$.

Sounds like mission not accomplished. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif

Really, you're killin' me!

I help plenty of people, but there's a 100 IQ point cutoff. You didn't make the grade.

there finally!! could have said that long time ago.

theres also people that are not wilign to learn and people that belive the wrong sources.

we are not teahers here bro, each one of us learned same way, theres jackasses with knowledge.

i dotn know everything either but what i know i try to share and some drama is ok, it makes things not boring. just dont take it personal...

I understood from the start what Imprint does, it just got lost in the translation to what I was typing. I knew it was much more head unit than I could ever use, but I wanted to learn how to use it correctly. Shortly after, I bought a vehicle for myself and equipped it with the Pioneer, as I already had the Alpine in her car and wanted to play with something different.
