Kenwood head unit and amp

Hi,

I have a kenwood KDC-x617 head unit and a KAC-819 amp running two Xtant 12"s. My subs run fine when i have the head unit set on the radio but when i switch modes to play a cd, my amp shuts off. I bought the stuff reconditioned so i was thinking it might be defective. Any ideas?

It sounds like however installed your head unit got the power antenna turn mixed up with the remote (amp) turn on. It's an easy mistake as the power antenna lead is blue, and the amp turn on is blue/white. Sorry colors may be backwards, my brain is working slower than normal.
