i have a question about the video inputs, if anyone has ever tried this. i havent gotten this reciever yet and what i want to do is hook up my ps2 to the video input so that i can play on the screen but i was wondering if i have a cd in the player will it play the music from the cd while showing the video from the ps2?

I doubt it.

When you turn on the HU to play things from the input leads you will prolly have to switch it to a new mode, and that mode will be diffrent from the Actual Cd player mode..

Actually the Kenwoods are capable of playing a seperate audio to the video source.
