Kenny's Blazer (getting closer to being done)

so you can snap them off and put them through a buddies windshield goin 60+ mph? yah...real smart.

and before you come saying its very rare it happens, think twice. it happens FAR too often. Either drag blocks, body, frame, or nothing.
never heard of it happening //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/confused.gif.e820e0216602db4765798ac39d28caa9.gif

What I dont get is there is all kinds of smoothed out roll pans for the Blaze, so why not just go and get one of those?
I am sure you have the money, right?

Not for the 2nd gen Blazers.

Grant Customs makes the only one I am aware of and it is metal. $500 plus shipping though.

RAW might have a shaved one now, but it is fiberglass (I have this one myself) and it is still close to $500.

ECC only offers the smooth pans for the s10. Not the Blazer. They are different.

Strange because my girlfriends cousin has a 2nd generation blazer with a smoothed out one. Not sure what brand it is, will have to check, but his looks all smooth and looks killer.

whatever happened to 'built, not bought'

me and my buddy just finished up on his super pivot 3 link (looks exactly like the one ******* doors sells, only he saved alot more money). sure its more work, but its also alot more satisfying knowing that you put hard work into what you see, not just your hard earned money...to each their own though

If you know how to do it properly and are doing it for yourself with no real time constraints, then it is great.

But when you have someone else do it for you, you have to pay for their time plus materials. And when rushed, it will cost even more.

And that is just doing a link like you mentioned.

Now since this was a discusion on the rollpan, that would be very costly. It is not 1 piece of flat 16 gauge metal. It has 2 different rolls in it. Not something your just gonna bend over your knee to get the shape right.

Might as well buy it from people who have made the molds and can produce them to match with little guess work.

So I take it you took into account the roll center and infinite center that the setup ends up giving the truck? What bar ends did you use? Pics?

Sure built not baught is great, but the fact of the matter is, on most cars and trucks (chevy's especially) things are already engineered and FAR better than your home built shit on a daily driver. A basic setup at that. If you want to do your cantiliever and shit, sure you gotta build it. But, when you spend 300 a link setup, in my eyes its far worth it.

i've never snapped off a trailer hitch ball.i use those insted of drag blocks, in over 4 years never had 1 come off

pat yourself on the back, hug yourself, and say your lucky. I have seen pics of drag blocks AND trailor hitch balls fly off. All bolted with grade 8 or stronger bolts, and professionals welds on others. Your frame isn't going to come off, nor is your body //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif drag those.
