i have a old hifonics zues VIII 600w amp pushing my 2 jl 12w6 dvc subs in a sealed box wired in stereo in series. the age of this amp makes me nervous i might blow it since i pound it everyday. i see the older series zues amps go for around $300 on ebay, would i be better of selling now while it still works great and get a new r/fosgate or what? thanks.

Unless you are running it really hot all the time it will last about forever. Most failures in electronic components that are not due to buffoonery occur very early in the life of the device. The old Hifonics amps were very well built and there is no reason to think that it will fail if it hasn't yet.

i just wonder why this old amp brings the same $ on ebay as brand new amps. and now i cursed myself because today the foam rings on my subs dreid out and cracked! can they be fixed or rebuilt?
