Just wanted to share that CDT's need power

I play it up ALL THE TIME. They love it and so do I. Any of those look good? I want to send my stuff into the Realm of Excursion. How do I do that? Ummm.... it is playing sweet!!

the HDs will surely be fine with that amount of power as long as its not clipping or something bad like that. I used to play with around 150rms on just the HD-6 woofer and they loved it. I've gone down on power now to 80rms on a set of ES-600 woofers and I know they can take more, alot more. Have fun!

I took a video with it up this evening. A couple of sad things happened though! When CRANKED I blew a fuse on Metallica. I went to the audio shop and got another 80 Amp fuse, put in Brooks and Dunn and blew it again when I had it CRANKED. The shop guy said I should look into a circuit breaker so I plan on heading in tomorrow to have one installed. He said 150 Amp.... sound about right?

The other bad part is I did get a small clip before it cut out but it sounds nothing like what it did in the car. Anyone have something to edit/mix it with so I can put it up tonight? Someone out there must have a decent tool for making clips. Thanks!

While we're on the subject, I've found:

1) subs need enclosures

2) head units need music

3) cars need gas

4) humans need food

that is all //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

What kind of amp and specs is that? So they dig them then. I hope the DLS sound better or I will kick myself in the *** //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/eyebrow.gif.fe2c18d8720fe8c7eaed347b21ea05a5.gif
It's an elemental designs 9.2x amp. 200x2 at 4 ohms. The gain is at about 3/4 I think now. DjDilliodon recommended that much power and it sure powers them very nicely =D

I wouldn't trust a breaker. If you are blowing fuses, there is a reason for it. Trip the breaker a few times and its ability to protect the circuit is degraded. You could end up with a bad contact causing a lot of resistance and heat which is a fire hazzard. You could also end up with a breaker that arc welds itself closed and doesn't do its job when you really need it to. IMO for high current situations, fuses are the only way to go.

Highest fuse I could find was 80 Amp. In my case I added a lot more power and didn't upsize my line capacity. I had the breaker installed tonight to a 200 Amp and played it LOUD for a long period of time with zero problems. Inspected the wire and amps and neither were warm. Just too much current for the rated fuse.
