just because they kill. does NOT necesarilly mean they are not christian. they can be christian, but not a goood follower. people do bad things. so what, look, u aren't allowed to steal either, are you calling all persons who steal non christian? or ones who disobey their parents, are they non christian?

But if going against the word of Christ means one is not truely a christian I would venture to say that the only real Christian is Christ himself.Is this not why the forgivness clause comes in to play?

If you argue that people who go against God's / Christ's "rules" or whatever you'd like to call them, then it could be inferred that no one is truly Christian.

The simple fact is that is not what Christianity is about at all.

Yes, Christians mess up and sin to, as is human nature, but when we do, we don't say it is God's will. We recognize that we did wrong and try to do better next time. We will never be perfect, but we don't deliberately go directly against what Jesus taught and still claim to be Christians.

I believe that some people are a little confused about this subject, so I thought I'd clear the ait a bit.
Seems like people believe that once upon a time Christians went around killing in the name of Christ.

This is a common misconception that is often used as a weapon to degrade Christians and Christianity, stating that Christians are just as sick as Muslim extremist terrorists who kill in the name of their god.

This logic is, however flawed, due to the fact that Christ did not condone murder, and the definition of a Christian is someone who follows the teachings of Christ and strives to mimic his life through theirs.

Therefore anyone who commits murder in the name of Christ is not a true Christian.

And yes, there are an assload of people who deliberately go directly against what Jesus taught, and still claim to be christians, or think they can go to church every sunday, be immoral every other day of the week, and be a good christian.
