just saw The Love Guru....

nothing worse then sweat dripping on your eyes with a mask on.
Not anymore for me //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Replaced the inside foam with gel inserts.

Freeze the inserts before the game, throw em in the helmet, feels great. Plus, they wicker sweat away from my forehead/eyes and down the sides of my face.

isn't a hockey game (in door) 90 minutes?

How the hell do you keep it cool that long?

Game times depend on the league, but most leagues around here are 3- 15 minute periods.

The gel stays cool for around 2 periods or so, but even after that it's much better then standard foam as it doesn't take up as much room inside the helmet and allows for better airflow/cooling on your head.

when wearing my paintball mask for extended periods ( 9 hours ) in 90 degree weather with pants and long sleeve shirts on a double headband keeps sweat out of my eyes
All masks come with a sweatband inside, but once that has absorbed all the sweat it can, it's useless. It got annoying for me, especially playing roller hockey around here, because it's extremely humid, and none of the rinks have AC, so the building is literally a sauna.

I'd bet money on the fact that you get so amp'd up during the game that your headband isn't even a thought in the wind, huh.

I'd also imagine (by the second period or third) that (if you are like me) that you take a drink of water, spit it out and get in the GRRRRRRRRR.......................

I really don't get amped up...I'm extremely calm and laid back in net.

What do you mean?
I'm a pretty decent size...about 6'1-2", 230lbs...but surprisingly, a lot of goalies are small and quick nowadays.
I went to a Lightning/Panthers game back in March and the Panthers' goalie was focking huge and stopped almost everything. It was amazing the Lightning were killing them on 95% of the ice but it meant nothing because of that **** goalie. Can't remember his name, don't think is was Luongo.

edit.. Just looked it up and it was Tomas Vokoun (only 195) so guess things can appear bigger than they are.

Haha yeah Vokoun really isn't that big.

Luongo is on the Canucks now, got traded there a couple years back.

I went to a local semi pro league game a few years back, got to sit right on the glass, it was sick. When someobdy gets checked into the boards right in front of you and then you beat the piss out of the glass its quite a rush
