So i just ordered the following for my first systemVehicle is a 2003 ford f-150 ext cab. I purchased the following

1. 15" Resonant Engineering SE

2. MTX TA4501 Mono amplifer ( 500W RMS @ 2 ohm) ( B sheet says 799W RMS)

3. 6.5" Diamond Audio D6 components

4. MTX TA3202 2 channel amp ( 100W RMS @ 2 ohm X2)

5. Alpine IDA-X001 deck

Total price was $890. Honest opinions on wat you think for first system. It should have more SQ than anything but still retain some SPL, right?

Not bd at all, better ythan 99% of people's first systems. My first system is in my sig, _1 BM, I only started with 1 of them.

i had the alpine 9881 with 2v preouts and i jsut got the 9885 yesterday with 4v preouts i can hear a differance

because you didn't change the gain setting on your amp to match the hu's output

BTW what size enclosure will you be running the SE in? Sealed or Ported?

wanna go ported cause ill gain some SPL. With the SQ sub its all in the instal so 4 cft tuned to round 34 hertz should make for osme nice sql

ported FTW!! you can make a ported box sound just as good if not better than a sealed box and you get so much louder.
