Just need to know if this enclosure is adequate?

I am going to be installing a system in the near future, and this is what I have planned. need to know how this sounds:

eD ninE.1 amplifier @ 1200-1400w rms

2 Alpine 12" Type-R DVC 4ohm subs wired to 1 ohm

These two subs in a 5 cubic foot enclosure, tuned to 35 Hz. How does this sound?

I figure these subs can handle 600-700 watts easily, but i could be wrong. let me know what you guys think. No one on here has ever steered me wrong.

Will it make a difference if the port is on the side or in between the subs? if not, would this enclosure work?

35 x 15 x 23.25...........this would be 5 cubes, @ 34 hz. (please feel free to check the math!)

and, if i need the port in the middle, could someone tell me how to adjust the port measurements to do so?

5 cubes at 34 hertz would be perfect. For alpine type r's the best would be between 4-5 cubes and between 30-35 hertz, so you should be perfect. Not sure about the port question, would like an answer to that as well. ok. i ended up going with 4 cubes @ 36 hz. i found out that the original plans i had in mind would not fit my application. My measurements were off when i first started planning.

havent gotten to build it yet.....lost my job a few weeks back, so the cash flow is a little hindered right now. but, i will be sure to take and post pics whenever the build happens. by the way, thanks for all the input.
