Yes the first time home buyers credit has to be paid off $500 at a year for 15 years. But I would rather pay off my cc debt w/ interest free gov money then keep paying interest out the ***. Plus if we sell the house for no gain or a loss we don't have to pay the money back.

Doing ours Friday. This is the first year doing my taxes as married, so who knows how much we will be getting. I hope it is a good amount, but who knows.

Last year I got 4700 back thanks to my little girl.

My wife at the time girlfriend got 5200 back.

ya its funny how people don't realize that.. hell don't let them take it out of your check stick it in a bank claim interest on it and ya you will owe during tax time but you will have made more letting it sit then letting them hold it..

i made 41100 for 08 and didnt pay any taxes on it...one of the only perks of being deployed. 2 kids make the return better as well, i get 6900, it could be worse.

yup....and if you would have actually read the thread, you would have seen my reasoning. Its not like i lost any real money....banks don't pay shit on savings accounts.

And lastly, its my money to do with as i please, and this is what i choose to do. If i don't lend them money, who's gonna pay for welfare?
