Why would you say that? B/C you can't just call up a dealer near you and have them ship it out to you?

my closest dealer that i know of is in houston. i also know that a direct price from a dealer on an 06' xxx is 800+tax+ shipping is what i was quoted. no way in hell i'm paying 865+65 shipping for 1 sub. Direct pricing is what people enjoyed about RE i'm glad the company is growing and all but the price's they are having is still more than any other company out there with less results then comparable brands in price. By resuls I mean comps not word of mouth.

I guess everyone can switch to eD since they are still factory direct? I'm sure in the near future there will be more RE dealers, and there will be more people that say "yo dawg I can get you the hook up RE..forrealz".

LOL oh well...RE is still a quality brand just like JL Audio (in some respects). People just make them out to be the end of all subs and then bash them when they think they found a comparable product at a cheaper price.

This is just my opinion, take it for what it is worth. The phone call should have never ended with a qoute for any product. RE customer service rep. should have given the caller the closest dealer and explained that they no longer deal direct. End of story.It would have saved all of this and kept a slight increase in price from being blown out of proportion. Call RE, ask for the nearest dealer, call them, ask what the actual price would be, if they are not local, ask what the shipped price would be, if it is still too high, buy something else.

i've been an RE fan since the day they released the first run of xxx's and that was my first internet bought sub. since then i've owned re tweets, xxx 6.5"s, Se's and two of the first 10 SeXXX's out their door back in the day so i'm not bashing. I'm just saying most of the fanbase is net based and they won't like the price increase, if I had the 800 bucks and had the desire anymore, I'd own a XXX 12". My taste/desire has gone to a smaller setup.

Anyone ever shop Korean owned businesses? Nail shops, Hair shops, Dry Cleaners, Tae Kwon Do schools, etc, etc............. They all have a few things in common. They drive a nice/very nice car, they own everything....no such thing as a Korean renting or leasing a damt thing, and last but most certainly not least.........they'll gouge your a55 for every last penny you are worth. Maybe pennies beyond your worth! No deals with Koreans.....stingy by upbringing. Your pals at RE are now owned solely by a Korean. Take that small bit of information, that everyone already knew, digest it for a minute and then let the flaming begin. It's the got's honest truth and there is no way around it. RE is no longer "RE"...not the one everyone knew before. Now RE will actually be able to pay their bills, they'll soon ALWAYS have product in stock......and they will make money, that is a guarantee. The Diehard RE online fans will simply sway to another up-and-coming company....as they have for the past 7 years now. Nothing wrong with it, it's simply history repeating itself.

I called them today on a recone for my MT 18, its $110 shipped, not to shabby....as long as they keep that price reasonable, they could be owned by the nazi's for all i care.
