Just got in a wreck..

Driving the winter car, of course, with only liability.
A fender bender happened right in front of me, I was slamming on my brakes and smashed in to the back of a new Caddy. I'm getting all of the blame for it, saying I pushed the caddy in to another car, that hit another car.

So here I am. Sitting around, and I'm fine. Everyone else was fine, I probably only hit them doing 20ish because I was slowing down from 40. One girl wasn't wearing her seatbelt and got a little whiplash so she got a ride to the hospital, but nothing major.

$75 ticket doesn't bother me, or the damage done to my Jeep since it's just my winter car and it's all a pretty easy/cheap fix. What bothers me is, 5 days into my policy with my new insurance provider and I'm getting blamed for a 4 car wreck. Sure I should be at fault for ''following too closely'' for one car because I simply couldn't stop as fast as them, but I'm not happy about the others getting off free of tickets (following too close, no seatbelt) and it's not right that my insurance has to pay for all of the ****ups.

I'll go get pictures later once they release my Jeep. Gotta love being 17 and getting a first wreck/ticket right before I'm 18, and right after I bought a new Z28. Oh well, at least it wasn't my car.

If anyone is injured while you're in a wreck, you must inform the DMV within 10 days of the accident or risk a suspended drivers license. At least in Cali. I didn't do this once and got a letter telling me b/c I didn't do this my license was being suspended for a year in 30 days.

I could appeal if I wanted to. I went and begged like a baby and told them I forgot that proceedure and they forgave me but it was close.

Yes, your insurance is gonna **** you now. Im 20 with 2 pts on my license and paying insurance sucks. If you have any questions about the accident, points, or the dmv ask me. Im pretty much an expert at this time.

you SHOULD be able to have your insurance company call the "victims" and ask them how many "hits they felt", if 1 that means you hit someone, and that pushed them into them, 2 means they hit first, then you hit the middle person, making them hit again.....it DOES matter. if you "pushed them" its your fault, if they were already in contact, and you hit the middle one "sandwhiching" the cars, they can ticket/at fault the middle car for hitting the first.

fight it..atleast in Florida if you rearend someone its always your fault. and your always ticketed. they could have gotten you for wreckless driving, not having your vehicle under control, try to get you for speeding, no control for the conditions..all kinds of ****.

Notified the insurance company of what I thought so I'm guessing they will be asking questions when they receive claimis.
